It's the most wonderful time of the Jeepers Creepers

I love, love, love Halloween.  I get more excited about this time of year than I do about Christmas.  I was like a kid in candy store when I went out exploring Jeepers Creepers this morning.

If you're into Halloween like I am, you'll love it.  I spent a couple of hours exploring and taking snapshots.  Good fun creepy time.  I loved it!

I won't spoil any of the creepy surprises for you, so go check it out for yourself:

ETA:  go in your low lag best, low ARC and remove your scripted objects.  I found the haunted houses to be laggy, but don't let that discourage you.  The rest of the sim was very good.  It's worth it.

Burn2 Fever

So Burn2 is officially over...but man oh man did I have fun!  I think that was the most fun I have ever had in SL.
I don't even know where to start because there was so much to see and do.  I already highlighted two of my favourite builds in my previous posts.  Another of my fave builds was Gracie Kendall's "Lonely Hearts Club".

Lonely Hearts Club - direct link here

It's hard to narrow it down to just a few because there was so much to see and even being there every night of the week, I still missed some stuff.

One thing I was sure I did not want to miss was the big burn of the Man.  The sim was full, of course when I logged on, but I'm stubborn enough to keep trying and I made my way in to see the most spectacular display of fire I have ever witnessed in SL.

Unfortunately, my graphics on my laptop doesn't seem to do fire, so the flames don't look all that great in my snapshots:

Check me out throwing a log onto the fire:

I made a new friend when I saved her from being trapped in the portapotty:

She was trapped inside and couldn't tp out LOL.  Makes a great story for how we met and became friends.

All in all, I had a great time, and from what I heard from all the Burn builders, it was the best one yet in SL.

If you missed it, or the lag was too much for you, the builds are going to remain up for the next week.  It might be a good time for you to check it out.
That's all for tonight.  Have fun. :))

Burn2: OhMy Shalala's Earth Journey

More from Burn2 today...

OhMy's Earth Journey installation is described as a special quest through Earth, Water, Fire and Wind.  It is a breathtaking build with a huge impact, taking me on an emotional journey through the four elements illustrating our connection to the Earth and our responsibility to protect it.  It is beautiful, disturbing, powerful, brilliant, hopeful and so much more.  It's message has lingered long in my mind since I first experienced it last night.

I really don't have any other words to describe it, except that it is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.  Go experience it!

Burn2: SpiritWeaver Star Space

I've been exploring Burn2, formerly known as Burning Life - six sims filled with art installations, interactive theme camps, DJ's, live performers, and of course fire.

There is a lot to see and some real gems to be found, like the SpiritWeaver Star Space by Edanna SpiritWeaver, where you can play, experiment and let your inner avatar spirit be revealed.

I had a lot fun at this installation and it's definitely worth a visit.

Visiting InWorldz

Tonight I decided to make a visit to InWorldz.  I have two avatars over there, one for Carrie and my original IW account, Esme Moonshadow, pictured in the snapshots below.  Carrie is not ready to be presented to the public yet LOL, but Esme is looking okay I think.

I'm pretty excited about InWorldz.  Virtual world pioneers like Soror Nishi are doing amazing things here.  Soror's art is breathtakingly beautiful.  I just love her work.  I visited InArtza showcase for 2D and 3D artists to display and sell their work, where some of Soror's creations are displayed.

If you feel like visiting InWorldz, look me up under both my accounts:  Esme Moonshadow and Carrie Lexington.  sent out some friend requests tonight, from Esme.

By the way, you can log in with the Imprudence viewer, if you are already using that one.  It saves you having to download another viewer.

Hope to see you over there :))

Today is my one year anniversary for this blog - it's my bloggiversary ;)

It's hard to believe that a year has gone my already, but here we are 48 blog posts, 72 comments later...that doesn't seem like a lot when I look at my stats.  I feel like I have said so much more than that.  Mind you, I didn't start blogging consistently until around February/March of this year.

I started this blog not really knowing what exactly I was doing.  I had been in SL for 9 months, not doing anything productive, just fooling around mostly, but I knew I wanted to do something creative.  Blogging appealed to me because of a long ago memory of a young woman who used to write...and then she stopped...

I stopped writing for a lot of reasons that started with a very unhealthy relationship (which I ended) and then university, travelling, career, settling down and starting a family - I was busy living life.  Becoming a mother changed my whole world and adding to that a full-time job outside my home...well, that just left me with very little time or head space to even think about writing.  I'm not complaining, just saying.

When I found SL, it stirred something deep within me and I really had no idea what that was. Blogging about my SL experience helped me figure that out.  Now here I am, a year later feeling a renewed passion for writing.  With encouragement from my good friend Ulrich (btw, if you appreciate poetry, go check out his new poetry blog, he's a gifted poet), I am preparing one of my short stories for submission to a RL publication (I hate delineating between RL and SL but I still haven't come up with a better way to express that).  Who knows if my story will get selected for publication, but that's not my point.  My point is that I am writing again, and I am trying to get my stories out there.

Not only has blogging renewed my writing muse, but it also opened the door to making new friends.  At a time when I was considering walking away from SL, I found comfort and friendship in the SL blogging community.  I've met a lot of beautiful and creative people, some of whom are now my friends.

There are times when I feel like i have nothing to say, or I worry that I am going to run out of things to blog about.  But so far, just when I think I have nothing, something pops up that is worth blogging about.  I make no promises about the direction or content of this blog in the next year, but I do intend on keeping my mind and heart open for inspiration.

We'll see it where it all leads me.  I hope you'll stick around with me to find out :))

p.s:  I took this snapshot at Soror Nishi's Tree of Trees.  Beautiful build.  I will be going back for more snapshots to blog.

Exploring Alirium

Aubree and I went exploring in Alirium tonight.  It was my first time there and it is so pretty, like walking around in a painting. It is definitely worth a visit and it is perfect for photographs.   I will be going back when I have more time to explore.  That's all for tonight :))
