Inspiration at Pose Fair

"Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul.
Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal"
- Pamela Vaull Starr

Simple things can give such pleasure and inspiration.  That's how I felt when I tried out this pose that I picked up from Do Re Mi at the Pose Fair.  It comes in a set of three poses called "like stars in our eyes".  I've seen this pose used on a few other blogs and I think it's pretty cool to see the different photos everyone has come up with.  I tried it out and immediately knew i wanted to set up a snapshot with my crescent moon.

It took me forever to get the moon placed correctly, choose a windlight setting, and pick an outfit to wear, and I don't even wanna talk about how long it took me to process the snapshot in PhotoShop Elements...btw, you will never again hear me complain about the SL viewer not being user friendly, or complicated or whatever...PSE blows that all out of the water!   I wonder if there are any PSE tips floating around out there that are specifically for processing SL photos?

It took me two evenings in SL to finish this photo, and a couple of hours (at least) this afternoon to post process it - and that's just basic cropping and editing, nothing fancy.  I can't imagine the time and effort it must take to make the actual poses, but I sure do appreciate the end result...and the fact that there are lots of talented people out there who have way more skills and patience than I do to make anything in SL! :P

Anywhoo, you should go and check out the Pose Fair if you haven't already.  It's on until April 16th, so you still have lots of time.

With all the fabulous pose makers in SL, I'm sure you will find a pose or two, or more that will inspire you in your SL too.

  1. Hi Carrie! I just found your blog today, thanks to a link that Tymmerie Thorn posted on her blog. I am glad she did, I really like your posts!

I took a look around and saw this post. I think your photos look great, and I love the pose set you used in this entry! I have a bunch of links to tutorials on taking photos in SL, and a few have info about using PS. I can post some links here, or send you an email or notecard in-world, let me know :-)

  2. hi india! thanks so much!
